Youth
Gravity Youth Ministries' mission is to connect students and families to Christ. We do this through engaging opportunities including Outreach Events, Confirmation, Classes and Groups. Each one is designed to strategically invite teenagers on a journey into deeper relationships with their peers, leaders, and Jesus. Each opportunity is designed with the teenager in mind.

Outreach events
We recognize that a huge element of student's faith is Loving Unconditionally and Outreach by using the gifts that God has given him/her to share God's love with others. Gravity offers a variety of opportunities:
Local mission Project (LMP)
Local Mission Project is a week long summer camp designed for students in grades 6th - 12th. It combines community service- such as wheel chair ramps and painting - with evening worship, fellowship and meals. Gravity students and leaders love and serve our neighbors each summer in Arkansas through Local Mission Project! A six-day camp (four work days) for youth currently in 6th-12th grade. The first day of camp is filled with orientation, group-building activities, and creating service teams known as Family Groups. Thereafter, campers serve in Family Groups completing home repair and improvement jobs in neighbors in the communities surrounding camp for five days. Evenings are a time of spiritual growth through programming, worship and fellowship.
Trunk or treat
The Gravity Youth group participates in this amazing community outreach event while dressing up, passing out candy, leading games, and having a scary fun time!
turkey bowl
During the TURKEY BOWL Weekend, Teens from Central UMC and Springdale First UMC have a great time with bonfires, flag football, worship with student led devotionals, and bringing canned/dry goods to local food pantries.
Vacation bible school
Youth station helpers will be assigned to a single activity (i.e., Music, Games, Crafts) and help the adult leaders with demonstrations and supply set up. Youth crew leaders will be assigned to crews of 5 to 8 kids, ages ranging from preschool to rising 5th graders. Crew leaders are asked to set an example for participants and help at each station.
Confirmation
Confirmation is open to students in 8th grade and above, and is an experience in which a student explores his/her faith in preparation for making a public profession of faith, and become a full fledged adult member of Central United Methodist Church. Gravity offers one session of Confirmation per school year, running winter through mid-spring. Mentors are the glue to our Confirmation experience, so this adaptation will continue to honor that and allow deep relationships to form between students and adult members of Central.
Classes and Groups
Sunday Morning (9:30a - 10:15a, Room 219)
Youth Sunday School is a welcoming place where students can grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover how God's Word applies to everyday life.
Sunday Nights (5:30P - 7:30P, Room 219 Extension)
Sunday Nights are filled with food, fun and fellowship as we build friendships and grow deeper in our understanding of how God's word is as relevant today as in the past.
High School Bible Study (12:00p - 1:00p, Room 219)
Our High School Bible study is where we journey through one book of the Bible at a time, reading and discussing each chapter together. Through honest conversation, thoughtful questions, and practical application, students grow in their understanding of Scripture and learn how God's Word speaks into everyday life.
